Broadway East & West Masterplan
San Antonio, Texas
At the northern gateway to downtown San Antonio, a single developer accumulated 20 acres of land and existing residential and commercial structures. Our design team was brought on to conceptualize a mixed-use district of over 1.5 million square feet of retail, office space, residential and structured parking. Each with their own ground floor retail, a hotel tower to the east and an office tower to the west mark the transition from midtown to lower Broadway.
New green spaces and pedestrian plazas intertwine with extended street grids from adjacent Pearl and Government Hill neighborhoods. The forms and facades of buildings recall existing and historic building articulation, while remaining clearly new and reflective of their modern day uses.
