arc Toppel hails from the piney woods of East Texas, spending his childhood exploring creeks between frequent trips to downtown Houston. This gave him a deep appreciation for all kinds of spaces: native and urban, accidental and intentional.

Marc graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas-Austin and was licensed in 2009. He has decades of experience coordinating large projects with multiple stakeholders, and loves connecting the dots between the ephemeral goals of design and the reality of construction. At Card and Company Marc acts as our studio manager, adding structure to creativity and, most importantly, bringing his people skills to both the staff he trains and the clients he serves.  

When he’s not in the studio, Marc and his wife can be found exploring the native and urban landscapes of San Antonio with their little girl. They also have an old dog, a moody cat, and a 300-year-old live oak that they love very much.
