Ko Kuwabara was born in Matsuyama, Japan and raised in West Virginia, where a middle school art class led him to discover his passion for building, creating and drawing. From that moment on, he started to notice the spaces around him, analyzing how they could serve people better. For Ko, seeing how people interact with architecture is one of his greatest joys. Ko holds a bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Virginia and a master of architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. Licensed since 2017, Ko has practiced in Tokyo, Baltimore and Austin. At Card and Company, Ko is bringing over his expertise in large-scale commercial projects to support the firm’s growth.

Ko and his wife, Noel, are often enjoying the outdoors with their three little kids by going on hikes, swimming, or getting ice cream. A Mountaineer from West Virginia, Ko has developed a fondness for the Texan landscape, and its barbecue, after living in the state for over 10 years.
