Derrick Burnett initially wanted to work in auto design, but a job at a car company pulled him into the building of a dealership, which then led him to architecture. With an undergraduate degree in finance from New York University, Derrick continues to be interested in the business side of design. A recent graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he now holds a masters of architecture and a certificate in real estate development and finance. At Card and Company, Derrick has assumed the role of Director of Finance and Operations, and we continue to be impressed by his consultant’s mind and knowledge of spreadsheets.

In his free time, Derrick and his fiancé enjoy taking their pug to parks around town and exploring new restaurants. They especially love wine bars and beer gardens with notable designs. They live within walking distance of Kuenstler Brewing, where they, and their pug, find themselves at least once a week.
