The overall design balances historic forms with reclaimed materials, creating a space that is both authentic and forward-looking.
This retreat fuses historic elements with a contemporary style, resulting in a space that provides comfort and connection to the outdoors. It’s a home that invites you to live as much outside as inside. An integrated terrace, equipped with a dining and grilling area, ensures year-round connections to the landscape. As a secondary home, it’s designed to foster family connections, with three suites offering ample space: the owners’ suite on the ground floor and two additional suites on the top floor, complete with bunk rooms and a second living area for extended family gatherings.
The material palette was chosen to weather gracefully, developing a rich patina with age and requiring minimal upkeep: quality materials expressing themselves in their truest form. This is a home that not only respects its surroundings but also enhances the experience of living in the landscape, serving as an authentic and luxurious retreat to begin and end each day.
On the ground floor, the entrance leads directly into the living and dining rooms, where the open floor plan reveals the kitchen and the outdoor patio at the back. Behind the kitchen tucks away the mudroom and a study. Also on the ground floor is the owner’s suite. Upstairs, a secondary living space and additional accommodations provide space to host two additional families.
